A Bridge is generally built to make it easier to get from one point to another. They are constructed across rivers, lakes, large ravines and mountains. We stand on one side looking out over the chasm to the other, but if there is no bridge, it may be close to impossible to get where you want to go. This CD is entitled “The Bridge” for a number of reasons. The African children who sing on this album are a part of the Daraja choir. Daraja is the Swahili word that means bridge, and these incredible children have been the bridge that has remarkably allowed thousands of people to move across the metaphorical chasm that separates us from another world. Two actually. They come from another part of the world where having food, shelter, and an education are extremely difficult. These children help us step across that bridge and offer hope to those in need. Their voices and their spirit have become the bridge that offers so many of us the ability to step across and get closer to a God who loves us. In a world wh
